Feature: Messy in the Middle Podcast

    February 14, 2022

My good friend and Set to Scale client Haley Johnson just launched a podcast! Wooohoooo Haley!

Haley founded Propegy to help online service providers expand their network, form connections, and grow their business through LinkedIn.

“Propegy helps online service providers create genuine connections to grow their business using LinkedIn, without feeling spammy or becoming overwhelmed”.

    Haley Johnson

I am thrilled to be featured in one of Haley’s first episodes for her new podcast, Messy in the Middle. On her podcast, Haley and I discuss all the messy parts of running a business, which I think is SO important! On social media it seems like business owners always have their sh*t together, but that’s not always the case.

It’s normal to have moments of doubt and feelings of being overwhelmed when running a business. Don’t believe me? Listen to the podcast and see!

It can be hard to remember that the impact we’re making goes far beyond the four walls of our office and the conversations we’re having on zoom. The beautiful thing about having a team is that it can connect you to your overall mission because you’re also impacting the people that are working for you.

-Your Very Own, Kira La Forgia

Owning your shortcomings is the same thing as owning your expertise. It’s giving yourself permission to not have to know everything because you can be confident about the things that you’re already kicking butt at.

-Your Very Own, Kira La Forgia

Often times the experts we’re learning from are struggling with the same things they are teaching us about. On my to-do list is to write a blog about how great it is to delegate, but I’m still holding tasks really close to my chest. I’m too afraid to let tasks go because I undermine my own self worth.

-Your Very Own, Kira La Forgia

When entrepreneurs get excited about something, we get in a hyper-focused “get it done” mentality. When this happens, sometimes it’s best to put yourself in check and focus on your most pressing tasks first.

If you’re not committed to the mission of helping the people you’re serving, then what’s the point?
